Vintage Condition & Restoration
What does “vintage condition” mean?
Vintage furniture is not new. Signs of age, use, and natural wear are normal and expected. This can include light surface wear, patina, subtle variations in wood tone, and minor imperfections that reflect the piece’s history.
What does “restored” mean on your site?
Are original components preserved when possible?
Will restored furniture look brand new?
Measurements, Fit & Practical Use
How accurate are your measurements?
Measurements are taken carefully and provided in each listing. Minor variations can occur due to upholstery, cushions, or hand-measured dimensions.

Selling Your Furniture
Do you buy furniture outright or offer consignment?
We do both. In many cases, we prefer to purchase pieces outright, but we also consider consignment depending on the item. The decision is based on the piece itself, demand, condition, and logistics.

Do you buy items outside of mid-century modern?
How do you determine pricing?
Do you offer appraisals?

Shipping & Delivery
How is furniture shipped?
Larger pieces travel with specialist furniture carriers who blanket-wrap, pad and secure each item — not on a standard freight pallet, and never loose in a van. Smaller items go by UPS or FedEx, boxed and insured. Every shipment is insured for its full value.

Damage During Transit
What if my item arrives damaged?
Inspect the piece before the delivery team leaves if you can, and fully within 48 hours of delivery. Email us at heirloomdecorshop@gmail.com with photos of both the piece and the packaging.
Every shipment is insured for its full value, so this is our problem to solve, not yours. Depending on what happened and what you would prefer, we will arrange a repair, a partial refund, or a full refund including return freight.
Do I need to inspect the item at delivery?
Returns, Cancellations & Refused Deliveries
Do you accept returns?
You have a 48-hour inspection window from delivery. If a piece arrives damaged in transit, or is materially different from how we described it, email us within 48 hours with photos of the piece and the packaging and we will make it right — repair, partial refund, or full refund including return freight. Every shipment is insured, so a carrier's mistake is not yours to absorb.
Because each piece is one of a kind and freight is genuinely expensive, we cannot accept returns for change of mind, for a piece not suiting your space, or for characteristics we disclosed in the listing. Please measure your doorways, stairwells and room before buying — we are glad to talk through dimensions with you first.
Can I cancel my order?
What happens if delivery is refused?
Pricing & Value
Why is vintage furniture priced higher than new furniture?
Pricing reflects rarity, craftsmanship, materials, restoration work, and sourcing efforts. Many vintage pieces were built with solid woods and construction methods that are no longer common today.
Is vintage furniture meant for daily use?
Care & Longevity
How should I care for vintage furniture?
We recommend avoiding extreme temperature changes, direct sunlight, and excess moisture. Wood, leather, and upholstery all age best with gentle, consistent care.
Is vintage furniture pet- or kid-proof?
