A handsome highboy dresser from Johnson Carper's iconic "Fashion Trend" line, produced in Roanoke, Virginia during the early 1960s. Johnson Carper was one of America's most prolific mid-century bedroom furniture manufacturers, and the Fashion Trend series remains among their most sought-after designs — recognized instantly by its distinctive louvered and raised-panel drawer fronts that give the case a rich, architectural texture.
This tall dresser is constructed in walnut veneer with a warm honey-brown tone and straight, clean grain across all surfaces. The upper section features the signature grid of louvered drawer fronts with recessed horizontal slats and bold raised panels, providing a graphic, almost sculptural quality to what is otherwise a clean, rectilinear case. The lower section opens with two full-width drawers fitted with original white ceramic pulls. The whole piece rests on four gently splayed tapered legs. The walnut veneer top is in excellent condition with rich, natural grain.
