Overview
A pair of mid-century slipper chairs made in Hungary in the 1970s, with their original factory label still under the seat. They are a little smaller than an average chair, which makes them ideal for a bedroom, an entry, a reading nook or a small living space. Very comfortable and very solidly built. The price is for the pair.
Design & Materials
Each chair has a clean, armless form with a squared, slightly flared back and a deep upholstered seat, finished with a single button tuft on both the back and the seat. They keep their original upholstery in a fun retro fabric with a swirling medallion pattern in cream, rust and taupe. The chairs stand on four tapered wooden legs. A partial paper label on the underside names the maker as Kocséri MG. TSZ., an agricultural cooperative in Kocsér, Hungary, and shows a production date in the 1970s along with a KERMI quality inspection stamp.
