Design & Materials
Built from solid cherry throughout, with a warm reddish patina and boldly figured grain across the plank top and side panels. Four flat-panel doors — arranged as two pairs — are fitted with turned cherry knobs and inset butt hinges, opening to reveal a single adjustable shelf in each bay set on drilled shelf-pin rows, plus magnetic catches to hold the doors closed. Below, two open shelves span the base for baskets, books, or display. The case rests on wide slab side panels and a full-height center divider rather than legs, and exposed pegged joinery at the door frames and case edges reflects the traditional cabinetmaking of the style.
