A sculptural Italian two-seat settee from the 1950s, fully restored and reupholstered in a rich saffron velvet. The silhouette is the draw: a softly curved crest that sweeps down into flared, upswept wing arms, a low floating seat cushion, and slender splayed sabre legs in stained hardwood. It photographs like a gallery piece and reads beautifully from every angle, including the back, which makes it an excellent choice for floating in a room, an entry, or at the foot of a bed.
Design & Materials
Hardwood frame with newly rebuilt upholstery in saffron gold velvet, piped seams, curved crest rail, outward-flaring wing arms and a single loose seat cushion. Raised on four splayed, tapered sabre legs in stained hardwood. In the Italian modernist idiom of the period; no maker's label or stamp is present, so the piece is offered unattributed.
