Description

A matched pair of solid cherry bedside chests by Thor's Elegance, the family-run Vermont workshop that has been building heirloom hardwood furniture since 1960. Each stand carries three graduated drawers with small turned knobs, a gently overhanging top with softly clipped corners, and long flared legs that sweep out under an arched apron, so the pair reads as transitional: enough Shaker restraint to sit beside a simple platform bed, enough shaping to work in a traditional room. The cherry has warmed to a rich reddish honey tone the way good American cherry does.

Design & Materials
Solid American cherry cases, tops, drawer fronts and legs, with light hardwood drawer boxes and panelled backs. Three drawers per stand on wood runners, each with a small turned wood knob. Flared splayed legs with an arched lower apron. Labelled inside the top drawer: Thor's Elegance, Made in Vermont.

Condition Notes
Good used condition with honest wear. Both tops show scattered light scratches, small pale marks and minor blemishes in the finish, with a few small nicks along the edges and drawer fronts. The two pieces vary slightly in finish tone, as cherry does with different light exposure. One back panel has a hairline split. All drawers open and close properly and both stands are solid and sit level.
