Description

Here is a set of seven Danish modern dining chairs designed by Henning Kjærnulf: one captain's armchair and six side chairs. The frames are sculpted in solid oak, with turned and carved front legs and stretchers joining the legs for strength. The side chairs have a beautiful carved cutout detail in the crest rail at the top of the back.

The captain's chair has an arched backrest and wide, gently curved arms, which make it a natural head-of-table seat. All seven chairs keep their original striped upholstery in gold, mustard, cream and black, finished with brass nailhead trim.

Condition: Very good vintage condition, with the original upholstery.

Measurements: Captain's chair: 23.5"W × 19.5"D × 36.5"H, seat height 18", arm height 27". Side chairs: 18"W × 18"D × 37.5"H, seat height 18"
