This striking mid-century surfboard coffee table by Bassett Furniture is a timeless piece from the 1960s “Artisan” line, attributed to designer Leo A. Jiranek. Crafted in solid black walnut, the table features a long, sculpted profile with a beautifully grained top and gently raised edge lip—classic details that give it its distinctive “surfboard” silhouette.
Measuring 70” wide by 19” deep and 13.25” high, the table rests on six elegantly tapered legs, offering excellent stability and a sleek architectural presence. It’s in good vintage condition, with expected wear consistent with age: a surface scratch along one side (pictured), a light ring mark, and minor edge banding separation on one end—none of which detract from its bold style and functionality.
A standout for any living space, this piece brings warmth, style, and an iconic mid-century vibe.
